PPC FAQs

What does PPC mean?

PPC, or Pay-Per-Click, is a digital advertising model where you pay when one of your advertisements is clicked. The PPC model first originated from Search Engine Advertising (SEA), but has since been adopted by other platforms, such as Facebook and LinkedIn Ads.

Why is PPC so important in 2021?

Every free online platform needs monetisation. PPC is at the core of this and these platforms are looking for new ways to monetise their growing audience. By paying for traffic with PPC you can ensure your business is always visible across the web, getting you in front of your ideal target audience.

Where do PPC ads appear?

PPC ads can appear across a number of advertising networks, depending on the platform you’re using. For example, when using Google Ads you can show your ads across the Google Advertising Network, which includes Google Search, Display, Shopping and YouTube.

Does PPC impact my SEO?

No. Whilst there has been speculation about PPC having an impact on organic search, there is no concrete evidence to support this. What’s more, Google’s Danny Sullivan has reiterated that there is no link between PPC and SEO performance. That said, SEO and PPC work great when used in tandem.

What experience do you have with PPC?

I have over 7 years experience working on PPC at some of the top PPC agencies in the UK. I’ve worked with many high profile clients, including Isuzu Trucks, Derwent Pencils and Garden Trading, operating alongside some of the best digital acquisition experts in the industry. For more information about my experience, take a look at my LinkedIn profile.
